- Keep all your electric blanket flat on the mattress
- Never use an electric blanket as an electric overblanket, and vice versa
- Tie electric electric blankets to the mattress – this stops them slipping and creasing, which could damage them
- When not in use, switch it off and pull the plug from the socket
- Don’t get blankets wet, and if your blanket does get wet, don’t use it. Never switch it on to dry it.
- Always follow the instructions in the manual.
